EA (Expert Advisor)

Automated trading code on MetaTrader — allowed at many firms, but copy-EAs and exploit-EAs are banned nearly everywhere.

Personal automation is widely accepted; what's banned is third-party mass-market EAs (many accounts, same trades = copy trading at scale) and EAs built to exploit simulation quirks (latency/tick arbitrage, HFT bursts).

Firms may ask you to disclose or license an EA and can void profits generated by prohibited automation retroactively.
