Maven Trading

8.0/ 10

A budget-priced, multi-model forex firm (challenges from ~$13) with trader-friendly mechanics — no time limits, 80% split, weekend holding — but aggressive gotchas: a blanket EA ban, voided news-window profits, a 20% best-day consistency rule, and a hard $10k / 30-day withdrawal cap across all your accounts.

The FundedWiki verdict

8.0/10

Cheap and flexible with no time limits, but the blanket EA ban, a $10k/30-day withdrawal cap and voided news-window profits are real constraints.

Pros

  • Very low entry fees ($13–$88) and many models (1/2/3-step, Instant, OMO, BNPL)
  • No time limits / infinite trading days on core challenges; 0 min days on 1-step, 3-step, Instant
  • 80% profit split on all standard programs; fee refunded on the 3rd withdrawal
  • Weekend holding permitted; payouts every 10 business days

Watch out

  • Expert Advisors are banned on every platform — no automation at all
  • Hard $10,000 withdrawal cap per rolling 30 days, across ALL your accounts (excess voided)
  • 20% best-day consistency on funded, plus a $5k-profit risk interview

Best for: Discretionary forex day traders on a tight budget who don't rely on EAs, news scalping, or single-trade home runs.

Bottom line: Great value for manual discretionary traders — just budget around the EA ban and the $10k/30-day withdrawal cap.

The rules, one by one

DrawdownConditionalVoids accountVerified

Maximum drawdown

2-Step is 8% STATIC (from the starting balance) and 3-Step is 3% static. 1-Step (5%) and Instant (3%) use a TRAILING drawdown from your highest EQUITY, which then locks.

Gotcha: The trailing models trail from highest equity (not balance) — unrealized profit raises your floor and can stop you out on a pullback while you're still in overall profit.

DrawdownConditionalVoids accountVerified

Daily loss limit

1-Step 3%, 2-Step 4%, 3-Step 2%, Instant 2% — measured from the higher of balance or equity at the prior end-of-day. Resets at 00:00 UTC.

Gotcha: It's anchored to the highest of balance/equity at EOD, so a day with big unrealized gains sets a marker that quietly tightens your room.

ConsistencyConditionalPayout deniedVerified

Consistency (20% best day + $5k cap)

On funded/Instant accounts your biggest winning day can't exceed 20% of total profit. Separately, once a payout cycle's profit exceeds $5,000, no single day/trade may exceed 50% of profit — and excess is voided.

Gotcha: Two overlapping rules: a 20% biggest-day cap and a 50%-of-profit cap above $5k where the excess is voided, not paid.

EAs & algosForbiddenVoids accountVerified

Expert Advisors banned

Expert Advisors are not permitted on any Maven platform — using an EA will prevent you from passing your challenge. There is no indicators-only or semi-auto carve-out.

Gotcha: This is a blanket ban; repeated use can suspend the account.

News tradingConditionalPayout deniedVerified

News trading

You cannot open or close trades 2 minutes either side of a red-folder news event. Profits made in violation are stripped (in challenge and funded). On Instant accounts, news trading effectively isn't allowed.

Gotcha: The window catches trades that CLOSE inside it too — take-profits, stop-losses and pending fills — even if opened well before the event.

PayoutsConditionalPayout deniedVerified

Payouts & $10k/30-day cap

Withdraw every 10 business days at an 80% split. First funded payout capped at 6% of balance, second at 8%, then uncapped. Hard cap: no more than $10,000 per rolling 30-day window across ALL your accounts — excess is voided. Profit over $5,000 triggers a mandatory risk interview within 2 weeks. The challenge fee is refunded on the 3rd withdrawal.

Gotcha: The $10k/30-day cap is combined across every account you hold, and anything above it is voided — not carried over.

Min trading daysConditionalSoft / informationalVerified

Minimum trading days & holding

Min trading days: 1-step / 3-step / Instant = 0; 2-step = 3 profitable days (≥0.5% each); OMO = 4 profitable days/phase. Weekend and overnight holding are permitted on all account types.

HFT & latency arbitrageForbiddenVoids accountHidden ruleVerified

HFT, arbitrage & tick scalping

HFT, toxic order flow, long/short arbitrage, reverse arbitrage, tick scalping and server-execution manipulation are strictly prohibited as exploiting the simulated feed.

Prohibited strategiesForbiddenVoids accountHidden ruleVerified

Scalping cap, martingale, gambling & hedging

Banned: excessive scalping (holding 50%+ of trades for under a minute), martingale (five positions opened simultaneously in drawdown on the same pair), gambling (5+ positions inside a losing trade), grid/gap trading, exclusive/reverse/group hedging, 'all-in' trades with no stop, and ~50+ lots on a $100k (high-risk gambling).

Gotcha: The '50% of trades under a minute' rule can catch legitimate fast scalpers, and cross-account hedging breaches BOTH accounts.

InactivityConditionalVoids accountVerified

Inactivity

Accounts must not be dormant for more than 30 calendar days — no executed trades counts as inactive and the account is closed.
