Trading during news is allowed as part of your normal strategy. What's banned is using news as a coin-flip — placing orders on both sides to gamble the print, or strategies that just 'chase the market.'
The gotcha
Non-directional 'straddle the news' bracket orders are explicitly treated as prohibited gambling, not legitimate news trading.
What happens if you break it
Breaching this doesn't necessarily close the account, but it can disqualify the payout you were trading toward — you keep trading, the profit doesn't get paid.
