Malta-based (EU) prop firm with balance-based drawdowns, no consistency rule on Classic accounts, and a scaling plan to $5M. Generous on news and EAs during the challenge — the traps are the daily reset timing and copying other people's trades.
A genuinely trader-friendly EU firm: fixed (non-trailing) drawdowns on the challenge, no consistency rule on Classic, and scaling to $5M. The catch is the strict Instant Funded plan.
Pros
No consistency rule on Classic accounts
Balance-based (non-trailing) drawdowns on the challenge
Scaling plan up to $5M — among the highest in the industry
News trading allowed during the challenge
Three platforms: MT5, cTrader, TradeLocker
Watch out
Instant Funded is strict: trailing drawdown, 2% max risk/trade, first two payouts capped
Daily limit resets at 5:00 PM EST — easy to misjudge
Founded 2023 — shorter track record than FTMO
Best for: Traders who want fixed drawdowns and the freedom of no consistency rule (take the Classic plan).
Bottom line: One of the more winnable challenges out there if you pick Classic and respect the 5 PM EST daily reset.
Your account has a hard floor. On Classic and Pro it's 10% of the starting balance; on One Phase and Instant it's 6%. It is BALANCE-based — measured on closed-trade balance, not floating equity — except Instant Funded, where the 6% is a TRAILING drawdown that ratchets up with your profits until it locks at your initial starting balance.
Gotcha: On Instant Funded the drawdown trails your gains, so banking profit raises your stop-out level — a pullback that would've been fine on day one can breach you later. On the others it's balance-based, so a deep floating loss that you DON'T close won't breach max drawdown (but can still hit the daily limit).
You can't lose more than 5% (Classic/Pro) or 3% (One Phase/Instant) of your balance in a single trading day. It is balance-based and resets at 5:00 PM EST.
Gotcha: The reset is 5:00 PM EST — NOT your local midnight and not your broker's server midnight. Traders blow accounts by treating two sessions on either side of 5 PM EST as 'two days' when the firm counts them as one, or vice-versa. Know exactly when your day rolls over.
On Pro accounts, no single trading day may exceed 45% of your total profit. On One Phase it's 40%. On Instant, no single day may be more than 15% of the profit you request. Classic accounts have NO consistency rule.
Gotcha: One lucky oversized day can lock you out of passing or getting paid even after you hit the target — the firm wants steady profit, not a single home run. If you want to swing for big days, take Classic, which has no consistency rule.
Classic: 10% then 5%. Pro: 10% then 8%. One Phase: 10%. Instant Funded has no fixed target — you just need at least 0.5% profit on five different trading days to be eligible for a reward.
News trading is allowed during all challenge/evaluation phases. On FUNDED accounts it's restricted for a selected list of high-impact releases: you must close affected-asset positions and can't open trades from 2 minutes before to 2 minutes after the release. The Swing add-on removes this restriction.
Gotcha: The restriction only bites once you're funded — people pass the challenge news-trading freely, then get a violation on a live account because they didn't realize the 2-minute window now applies. Buy the Swing add-on if your edge is news.
All positions must be closed before the weekend (by Friday market close) unless you've purchased the Swing add-on, which lets you hold over the weekend and through major news.
Gotcha: Forget to flatten before Friday close and you can breach — set a hard reminder, or buy Swing if you're a swing trader. Intraday/overnight within the week is fine.
Classic requires at least 4 trading days. Pro and One Phase effectively require 3 (via the consistency rule). Instant Funded needs at least 5 separate trading days with ≥0.5% profit each to qualify for a reward.
You may copy trades between accounts that YOU own. Copying trades from accounts owned by other people is strictly prohibited and is a hard breach.
Gotcha: Running a signal/copy service into your funded account, or mirroring a friend's trades, voids the account — even if every trade is profitable. 'My own accounts only' is the line.
High-frequency trading is permitted as long as it does not exploit system latency or discrepancies in the external data feed. Pure latency/feed arbitrage is prohibited.
Gotcha: The line is intent: fast trading is fine, but strategies whose edge IS the firm's slow price feed (tick scalping arbitrage, feed lag exploitation) get voided as gaming the simulation.
Challenge accounts have no max-margin rule. Funded accounts cap margin at 20% per asset class. On Instant Funded, using 80%+ of account margin, or risking more than 2% on a single trade, is a violation.
Gotcha: Instant Funded is the strict one: the 2%-per-trade and 80% margin ceilings catch traders who size up like they did in the challenge. Scale your risk down once you're on Instant.
FunderPro markets daily rewards on funded accounts, with a profit split that starts around 80% and scales toward 90%. Instant Funded rewards are bi-weekly, minimum $100, and your first two rewards are capped at 5% of the account balance. Scaling reaches up to $5M.
Gotcha: On Instant Funded the first two payouts are capped at 5% of balance — you can't withdraw a huge first month even if you earned it. Plan for the ramp.
